  About the Artist

Karen Art, in all its forms has been a huge part of my life since I was a child. When my family lived in San Diego, and I was finally able to ride a bike, I peddled to Balboa Park on Saturday mornings where there were free art classes for children. I did not get formal training but have studied and practiced, studied and practiced when time permitted while raising children and working. I would love to have gone to a school of Fine Arts but more practically chose a career as a Registered Nurse. I loved every minute of the many years devoted to nursing and in my spare time then I kept my fingers busy making pottery, crocheting, and painting.

Now that I am retired and able to control a bit more of my time, I spend many moments at my torch making beads, or sketching and making pictures with colored pencils, and sometimes acrylics, from photographs, and get as much information as I can from Art Spaces on the Internet. I have fallen in love with colored pencils and spend time cruising around Wet Canvas, gleaning all I can from the fabulous artists there.

This Website is an opportunity to offer some of the pieces of Art that I've been creating for the past two years and to gain more of the valuable C&C's for continued improvement. I would hope you might take a few minutes to e-mail me with any critiques you might have and I want to thank you for taking the time and interest to visit my website.
